The Division of Student Affairs is focused on building a strong foundation to ensure every student's IU experience is positive, safe, healthy, and meaningful. The Division of Student Affairs staff and 18 departments aim to help students navigate their time at IU, providing the tools they need to be successful in school and after graduation. This position provides direct support to the Student Advocates Office Client Services Assistant (CSA), which includes:
Facilitating the intake process for student appointments.
Creating and submitting initial case reports into the Symplicity system; file management.
Answering the main phone line, as well as firstname.lastname@example.org emails; providing support and resources, transferring, and/or setting up appointments.
Supporting the CSA as needed and/or other Student Advocates Office staff.
Providing direct support to Advocates with cases, as deemed appropriate and/or needed.
High school diploma or equivalent and currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative, extremely busy office environment that supports students experiencing a wide array of challenges. Access to functional technology and reliable internet service. Office experience and proficient computing skills. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows applications including Excel and Outlook. Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation. Excellent ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students and administrators at all levels. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
Working Conditions / Demands
Working on a computer, speaking on the phone, using computer software.
