Part-Time Outreach and Retention Specialist, St. Louis MO
The Missouri Institute of Mental Health (MIMH), University of Missouri-St. Louis has an opening for a part-time Outreach and Retention Specialist position.
Coordinates support functions for research project(s) to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.
Performs routine tasks as assigned using existing procedures
Coordinates (e.g., compiles, verifies, prepares) materials, information, events, etc. as assigned
Performs standard assignments and responsibilities and makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, resourcing, etc., as necessary
Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems
Assists in the development and implementation of programs/projects according to plan and/or with guidance
Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet established deadlines
Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions, and checks for understanding
Develops working relationships with program/project teams
Responsible for recruitment, retention, and follow-up of program participants
Responsible for assuring that target numbers for project participants are met and that a 75% retention rate is maintained for program cohorts
Responsible for project-related outreach activities (health fairs, recruitment promotions, community forums, etc.)
Responsible for assuring that the needs of program participants are met (e.g., transportation, childcare, referrals, testing)
Serves as a curricula facilitator for program interventions
Develops outreach and engagement strategies
Assists with report writing and submissions
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Possesses conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the Program and Project Administration function
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Familiarity working in communities of color
Experience with HIV testing, substance use and hepatitis screenings
Willing to work evenings and some weekends
Experience in grant writing
Proficient in Microsoft Office
$15.29 per hour.
